Three in One functionality:
It has 11.6-inch detachable Android tablet with a keyboard dock. This dock, when attached to an external display, can also be used as a self-contained Windows 8 desktop PC. Thus, a user has three options to use it. When the tablet is attached to the dock, it can be used as a Windows laptop, or an Android tab with a keyboard. Switching between the Windows and Android requires just a press of a handy button. When the tablet is detached from the dock, the device can be used as an Android tab, and a Windows desktop simultaneously, if the dock is then attached to an external display.
Dual Processors and Dual Operating Systems:
ASUS Transformer Book Trio comes loaded with not one, but two processors to enable it to function as a laptop, as well as a tab and a desktop simultaneously. It has a 4th generation Intel® Core™ processor to power it while in a Windows 8 laptop mode. When the tablet is detached from the dock, its own Intel Atom™ dual-core processor comes into action to enable the Android tablet to function independently of the dock. The tablet also boasts of having up to 64GB of solid-state storage.
Easy Switching between Android and Windows: ASUS Transformer Book Trio is one device offering you the use of two different operating systerm – Android and Windows. The tablet, when separated from the dock, runs on Android 4.2. When docked, it can also become a Windows 8 computer. But even when docked, it can still be used as an Android tab. When the display is docked, switching between the Windows and Android requires just a pressing of the dedicated ‘Trio’ key on the keyboard. Using this dedicated key, the users can easily switch between the two operating systems as often as they want. The data on the device is shared between the Android and Windows operating system through the tablet’s internal storage.
Use the tablet and the dock, separately: What I liked best about Trio is that even when the display tab is detached from the dock, the dock isn’t rendered useless. It has Mini DisplayPort or Micro-HDMI that enables it to be connected to an external display. This turns the dock as a PC Station that can be used as a self-contained desktop computer running on Windows 8 platform. This means, that the tablet display and the dock can both be used separately and simultaneously. For example, while one person is playing games on the tab, the other can still keep on working by attaching the dock to another display device.
Display: ASUS Transformer Book Trio’s has 11.6-inch Full HD capacitive multi-touch display with IPS technology. The display has 178-degree viewing angles. The touchpad is multi-touch as well, and the keyboard is backlit.
Audio: There are two speakers on the tab, and two on the PC Station, giving Trio a total of four speakers. The device also boasts of having ASUS SonicMaster audio technology in the tablet and the PC Station for an enhanced audio performance.
Connectivity: 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 in the PC Station, plus 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 in the tablet display.
Battery: The tablet and the PC station have separate batteries, delivering upto 13 hours battery life while in Android mode and five hours when running on Windows.
