State Finance Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that the public assistance provided by the Government including financial assistance for kidney patients and elderly people will continue without any reductions.
Although a specific period has been mentioned for those receiving benefits under the ‘Aswesuma’ programme, the government will continue to provide financial aid to the people numbering more than 520,000 chosen for financial aid under categories of people with disabilities, kidney patients and elderly beneficiaries as usual, the minister said.
The state minister said this while speaking to the media after a public ceremony.
