#ASKAWAYFriday with Rabia at The Liebers

Christy from Uplifting Families

I started participating in #ASKAWAYFriday and I have enjoyed it. I love connecting with other bloggers and learning more about them. I wanted to participate in this blog hop because I don’t always share a ton of information about myself. I thought #ASKAWAYFriday was the perfect way for everyone to get to know me on a personal basis. For those who don’t know what #ASKAWAYFriday is, you exchange a set of 10 questions for another blogger to answer. Below are 10 questions that Rabia asked me and I hope that you enjoy my answers.

This week I exchanged questions and answers with Rabia from The Liebers.  She has been married to her husband for 12 years and has three children (1 girl and 2 boys).  I loved the all of the quotes that she shared with the questions (very creative).  On her blog you can find a variety of posts about parenting, English skills, and much more.

  1. “Let us always meet each other with a smile, for a smile is the beginning of love.” –Mother Teresa Tell me something that is guaranteed to make you smile.

Hearing my husband tell me how much he loves and appreciates me and seeing my children smile or laugh.  It is amazing how easily a smile or laughter can instantaneously put you in a better mood.

  1. “A man is already halfway in love with any woman who listens to him.” –Brendan Francis What’s the best thing your husband has ever said to you?

I love it when he tells me that  he loves me.

  1. “To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.” –Oscar Wilde What is something that you really love about yourself?

I love that I am blessed with three wonderful children and I am thankful that God picked each one of them to be my children.

I have always loved my long hair and light brown eyes.

  1. “Love is a game that two can play and both win.”  -Eva Gabor Do you have any hobbies or things you especially like to do in your free time?

I enjoy playing games on my computer or phone, reading books, crocheting, writing, interacting on social media, watching movies, and spending time with my family.

  1. “We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.” –Virginia Satir  Who gives the best hugs in your house?

This is a tough question for me to answer because everyone in the house gives me the best hugs.  Each of their hugs are special and I cherish them.  As my older kids have gotten older, they don’t give me nearly as many hugs as my youngest does.

  1. “Love has no age, no limit, and no death.” –John Galsworthy  Are you missing anyone that has passed on?

I have a long list of people that I miss on a daily basis.  My mom passed away almost 3 years ago.  She died at an early age from complications from Pick’s Disease (I linked to my mom’s story that I shared on Hubpages).  My grandmother who passed away when I was 14.  I also miss both of my grandpa’s who both passed away while I lived in North Carolina.  I wasn’t able to go home to their funerals.  :(

  1. “Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.” –Robert Browning  What’s the best part/hardest part about being a mom?

My kids have taught me about unconditional love.  I loved them from the moment I laid eyes on them.  The hardest part for me is the discipline.  I have a soft heart and the nurturing side of me wants to give them grace.  I do know how to be tough when I need too.

  1. “If music be the food of love, play on.” –William Shakespeare Do you have a song that always speaks to you and puts you in the right frame of mind?

I usually turn on Pandora or Beats Audio to listen to my favorite Christian artists.  I have a few favorite songs: Lord, I Need You by Matt Maher, Live With Abandon by News Boys, Great I Am by New Life Worship, and music by Hillsong United.  I listen to Christian music because it is encouraging and inspiring.  Plus, it is safe for my children to listen too.  I never have to worry about them hearing things I don’t approve of and never have to change the channel for an inappropriate song.

  1. “The most important things a father can do for his children is to love their mother.” –Theodore Hesburgh  Your husband is a father and step-father. Tell me three reasons he is awesome at both.

I love how my husband loves each one of the kids unconditionally, plays with them, and makes them laugh.  He can always make them laugh and has shown them love from the very beginning.

Daddy

  1. “The greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance.” –Brian Tracy How do you use your blog to make the world a better place?

I use my blog to share my knowledge and experiences with other parents.  I also enjoy helping and inspiring others around me.  I use my blog to take some of the focus off my own issues and be a source of inspiration for others.

Don’t forget to visit Rabia from The Liebers to see the questions that I asked her.  I hope that you have enjoyed my answers and learned some new things about me.
