This week I paired up with Kenya from KG-Edits. Her goal is to become a full-time freelance copy editor and writer. She enjoys working with everyone from bloggers to first-time authors and college students who may require a critical eye to finalize a research paper.
- You said you wished you had started blogging when you were pregnant with your youngest. What’s one of your favorite memories from that pregnancy?
I have always enjoyed feeling my baby move and kick in my stomach, most of his kicks were faint because I found out the final week of my pregnancy that my placenta was on top of my stomach. The medical term for the condition is anterior placenta and it doesn’t cause any harm, just makes it harder to feel your baby kick. I miss all of those tiny movements in my belly and will never get to experience it again, which makes me a bit sad. I had my tubes tied during my c-section due to my own health issues.
The main reason that I wish that I would have started blogging during my pregnancy, I would have loved to document my pregnancy week by week. I probably could have also gotten some cool perks too during my pregnancy. I also could have entered giveaways to try to win baby gear too. I didn’t know about all of the online giveaways until I got involved in the blogging community.
- I grew up in Dallas, but it seems like people I know from Ft. Worth are terrified to drive in Dallas. In your opinion, who has the worst drivers, Dallas or Ft. Worth? (If you say Dallas, I won’t be offended lol)
I would say that the road are more congested in Dallas than they are in some parts of Fort Worth. I think both cities have equally bad drivers. I go to Dallas occasionally for my daughter’s hearing appointments and I just give myself plenty of time.
- What are some of the personal benefits you get from being involved in a youth group?
I really didn’t know what to expect when I first started volunteering during youth group. It has been a rewarding experience even though I am limited in what I can do to help with the youth. The kids are an awesome bunch and it has been fun watching them grow spiritually.
- You love to help others, and I notice sometimes people who love to help aren’t as quick to accept it;-) Does this apply to you? What’s the most helpful thing anyone has ever done for you?
I have to admit that at times I have a hard time asking for help. I grew up very independent and always tried to do things for myself. When my back started really affecting what I could and couldn’t do any longer, it was very difficult to hand some of the duties over to my children. They are a huge help and a blessing to our family.
I remember when I had some procedures done in 2009, some of our church family brought us some meals. It was very nice of them even though I didn’t expect anyone to help out.
