AAF Co-host

This week I swapped with Kelly Michelle from Patient Resilience. Her blog is filled with encouragement, crafts, her amazing artwork, and teacher topics. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a part of the classroom for the rest of her life. Her dream came true when she started teaching. Back to school is in a few short weeks, if you are a teacher stop by and see her great tips for teachers.

  1. Name one person who inspires you and why?

This is a tough question because over the years there have been a ton of people who have inspired me along my journey. I know that this is going to sound cliche but God inspires me to do things, like blogging, that I once thought was impossible.

Growing up my parents, grandparents on both sides of the family, and many friends along the way have pushed me to never give up.

My husband, my best friend encouraged me a few years ago to help him with his blog. He had me do all the tasks that are repetitive. Those repetitive tasks helped me with my own blog.

My daughter was born deaf and she has taught me how to fight though your own disabilities. She has amazed me in so many ways and I wish that I could have her carefree spirit, most of the time she doesn’t let things bother her.

My oldest son has a great heart and loves to help others in need.

My youngest son inspired me to start a new blog after the first one was a total flop. I had to return to work after my maternity leave ended and was using a breast pump for the very first time. I wanted to encourage other women that they could continue their breastfeeding relationship even after they returned to work. After a medical layoff, I ended up moving my breastfeeding section and combining into Uplifting Families so that I could share multiple subjects on my blog.

  1. Where is your favorite place to relax?

I would really love to relax in a hamock on the beach but I don’t live close to the coast anymore so I will have to settle for my bedroom or in the living room.

  1. What is the best compliment you have been given?

That I look great for my age. Most people can’t believe that I have a 17 year old daughter.

  1. What is your favorite outside activity?

I really enjoy going camping and fishing in Colorado but it is something that I haven’t done in a very long time.

I don’t like being outside when it is too hot but on a good day, I love taking the kids to the park and watching them play.
