  1. I love the name of your blog and your tag line. What made you so passionate about encouraging and uplifting families?

My husband created my logo after we decided to find a new theme for Uplifting Families. The change has been positive and my site is more user friendly now. Uplifting Families started after I was laid off due to my chronic back pain. I wanted something to keep me busy and keep me from focusing on my own issues. I merged by breast pump website into my current site because I didn’t want to maintain and promote two sites, plus I felt limited on the number of posts that I could write about breastfeeding alone. It was a great decision because I am able to help moms who want to breastfeed and I help advocate for their rights. I am continually trying to grow the site and do what I can to continually help families with things that they might not think about such as baby proofing your outdoor space, summer reading challenges, and so much more. ;)

  1. If you could have ANY job, what would it be and why?

Blogging – I am able to spend an hour or two a day writing/sharing/marketing my blog. I am unable to sit up for very long especially in a desk chair due to my back pain. Thankfully, a laptop gives me the flexibility to blog from a comfy spot in the house and I can even do it while I am laying on the couch.

  1. Your blog is growing by leaps and bounds! What is your #1 piece of advice for new bloggers?

The number one advice that I have for newbies, is to stick with it. I often call Uplifting Families a labor of love considering I have had to perfect my writing skills and learn how to market the blog. These are all skills that I didn’t have and had to learn them from scratch. I do have coding knowledge which helps with making some of my posts look pretty, especially, the ask away friday posts because the uniformed list numbers don’t work properly when I add spacing between the questions and answers. I have to manually add the code or fix formatting.

  1. What is your favorite room/place in your house? (Bonus points for a picture)

I love our bedroom and living room in our house.
