Décor brings out the restaurant theme and seating is comfortable. I start by ordering
Yufu Soup (195), which was not only light, subtle and flavorful, but the slow poached fish mousse is perfectly cooked along with herbs and mushrooms and was a delight. I had never heard about this soup nor do I know about its history, but I was impressed with the opening statement made by the restaurant. Guang Bing (225) which is a Fijian dish with steamed Bao (later pan toasted) was soft and fluffy, however inside filling could have been more innovative. Sushi’s were a complete disappointment though. The fish was average, rice was hard and wasabi missed its punch. Restaurant brilliant sheen was taken aback with the very average sushi. However what came next was a star dish once again. Slow simmered fish with whole Sichuan pepper and dry chilli (525) will surely blow your mind with chilly heat and long aftertaste. I am fond of Koran cuisine but the Bulgogi (495) that was served in huge portion, missed the mark. Chef Chow Man noticed my plight and he went into the kitchen to send back the dish that could easily compete with the best Korean outlets in India. Equally heartening was the chilly crab (1550) that was as fresh as one could get in Gurgaon. The menu is impressive, cocktails are reasonably priced at Rs199 and if one can ignore the inducement to try buffet or the sushi, Asia 7 certainly brings joy.Ratings:
