#Ashtag

It’s time to put away the pancake batter and nurse those sugar hangovers. Shrove Tuesday has given way to Ash Wednesday and, for those celebrating Lent, it’s time for forty days without a vice.

But while some will be giving up social media and qwelling their Selfie urges, others will be participating in the Lent-inspired #Ashtag.

The #Ashtag, where you post a photo of yourself wearing a cross of ashes on your forehead, is taking off on Twitter. Come back tomorrow to view a gallery of a selection of the Ash Wednesday #ashtag selfies.

A recent survey of Lent-celebrating Brits has also uncovered the daily transgressions we’re looking to kick for the Lenten Fast 2015.. The top spot is taken by chocloatey snacks with 32% of our sample opting to cut the choc. Coming off a Dry January health-kick no doubt, a fifth of our sample are choosing to give up alcohol while third place sees a move from food and drink to reclaiming our social lives, with Social media beating red meat and take-aways to the bronze.
