Ashhar Hameem was re-elected as President of Sri Lanka Automobile Sports (SLAS) at its AGM held on Tuesday (31). Ashhar was first elected to the post of President of SLAS on 31st August 2020.
Appointed at a time the nation was grappling with the Covid19 pandemic, the SLAS committee headed by Ashshar were instrumental in introducing amendments to the SLAS constitution, a new code of conduct and a penalty system. Ten national racing events were held during that time including the Katukurunda tarmac race which was organised by SLAS with the support of all ten affiliated clubs.
The following were elected uncontested as office bearers and council members of SLAS for the years 2022 / 2024 at an AGM held on 31st May 2022.
