Who dumped 19 year old Ashanti Billie’s body near a North Carolian church?
Federal officials are working to get answers surrounding the death of Ashanti Billie, who vanished from Virginia last month.
Billie was reported missing on Sept. 18th after she didn’t show up for her shift at a local sandwich shop.
Now two weeks later Ashanti Billie’s body has been found
A landscaping worker found Billie’s partially clothed body near the East AME Zion Church in Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday.
The location of Billie’s body raises questions, since North Carolina is over 300 miles from Virgina.
Police say the medical examiner confirmed Billie’s identity. Police didn’t release a cause of death or if they know how the teen ended up in North Carolina.
“This is not one of the outcomes that we all were seeking,” her father, Meltony Billie, said at a press conference. He later added of Billie, “She’s home. She’s home with God.”
