Arthur’s Whisky as they decided to name it was something that he had been secretly making, and what a result that it made the three women younger again. With that naturally creating some amusing moments as they then must cope being a 20 something year old in the modern world!
The main aspect of this film that I found myself really enjoying was the message of having no regrets, taking those different changes. For the three women in this it does revolve around love and the choices (or lack of them) that they made when they were younger. It then links together with pushing something to ensure that you can make peace with those regrets and choices.
Obviously it was never going to be a film that was challenging for Oscars or anything like that, but it raises some good points about trying to please others rather than actually focusing on yourself and what you want at times. I actually feel as though it highlights how women have changed throughout generations and don’t just put up with things, and by things I mean how men decided their life should be. I feel as though I have gone super deep with this, but never mind I enjoyed it.
Patricia Hodge, Diane Keaton and Lulu go all in and show that you should still be allowed to take on roles no matter on your age, something that has been much better for older actresses in more recent years and for me that was where the charm with this film was, the performances.
