ART for ADVOCACY, an auction benefiting the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC), highlighted the unique role art therapy plays in healing the child abuse victims. The annual fundraiser brought more than 600 art enthusiasts, young professionals, and supporters of DCAC clad in colorful chic to F.I.G. on Saturday, November 7. Guests were welcomed into the second floor gallery space transformed by The Color Condition complete with colorful cocktails and sophisticated fare by Lombardi Family Concepts while Cameron Ernst delighted the crowd. Event chairs Paige + John Slates, Art Chairs Cris Worley and Holly Johnson, and Friday Roundup Chair Nancy Cohen Israel each contributed to the success of this year’s event. Later in the evening, guests enjoyed a performance by ISHI and gathered on the dance floor to the beats of DJ S.O.U.L.Jah.
Sponsors at the $2500 level and up had the chance to purchase pieces at the buy-it-now price before doors officially opened. Guests began mobile bidding whether finishing dinner or upon entry in the space. The evening featured a silent art auction featuring the works of Tommy Fitzpatrick, Sedrick Huckaby, Rusty Scruby, Allison V. Smith and James Isaac Zamora. As an added way for guests to take part in the process, images depicting DCAC’s span of services were interspersed on the gallery walls.
