The most recent collection of NFTs from Art Blocks, an art collective that facilitates generative art NFT projects, is the top-selling collection on the world’s largest secondary NFT marketplace, OpenSea.

Art Blocks’ “Friendship Bracelets by Alexis André” came to the top of the charts on Tuesday, shortly as the deadline for Art Blocks NFT holders to get two free NFTs from the new collection expired. Since then, its value has increased on the secondary market, and it is currently the most valuable collection on OpenSea with 601 ETH (nearly $808,000) in 24 hour trading volume.

The NFT collection comprises of 38,413 NFTs conceptualized by Art Blocks founder Erick Calderon (Snowfro) and designed by Japanese Generative Art Foundation director Alexis André. The wristbands were inspired by kid’s novelty bracelets, and Art Blocks NFT holders could claim up to two bracelets between October 2022 and January 10.

By the end of Tuesday, the collection’s highest 24-hour trading volume was 996 ETH, which is more than $1.3 million. At the time of writing, the collection’s total trading volume was 7,437 ETH, or just under $10 million.

Art Blocks is an art group that allows a variety of digital artists to mint generative art NFTs. Art Blocks intends to reward community members who have supported its artists from the company’s founding in 2020 by giving a free Friendship Bracelets collection. Now it appears that people that claimed NFTs are also being financially rewarded, as the current floor price on OpenSea is.529 ETH, or about $700, at the time of writing.

In addition to the digital bracelet, the NFT includes instructions on how to make a real bracelet.
