Weeraketiya Police have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with the arson attack on Weeraketiya Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman P. Liyanaarachchi after eight months from the attack on Tuesday (7).
The suspect, 40-year-old suspect W.Gunaratne is a resident of Medamulana,Degampotha.
According to the police, he had been evading arrest for the past eight months.
The arrested suspect has been remanded till February 14 after being produced before the Walasmulla Magistrate’s Court.
Police had arrested another six suspects in connection with this incident earlier and only one other suspect is yet to be arrested, police said.
