Aretha Franklin Amazing Grace film will be viewed at two historic churches as part of the film’s premiere week celebration.
Variety was the first to report that civil rights activist Rev. William J. Barber II will be taking the film to the New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit. This is where the late superstar’s father, C.L. Franklin, preached, and her singing career was launched.
AMAZING GRACE“Amazing Grace” will also have its official L.A. premiere March 31 at the New Missionary Temple Church. This is where the Amazing Grace live album was recorded in 1972.
The film will also have showings at the Smithsonian in Washington, the Martin Luther King Jr. Museum in Atlanta, and the Civil Rights Museum in Alabama.
Amazing Grace is scheduled to open everywhere Easter weekend.
