The Garuda team has released a new 200831 version of Garuda Linux, which includes many updates and improvements to applications and desktop environments.
For those who don't know, Garuda Linux is a rolling distribution based on Arch Linux that only focuses on performance. But unlike Arch, it comes with a Calamares graphical installer and other advanced GUI tools like Garuda Settings Manager and Garuda Boot Repair to easily manage the system.
Another cool feature of Garuda is the Linux-zen kernel and Btrfs as the default file system with Zstd compression. Surprisingly, Garuda Linux also offers a variety of desktop environments such as KDE, GNOME, Xfce, Wayfire, LXQt-kwin, Deepin, and i3, which come in two editions: Ultimate and Lite.
Garuda Linux 200831: What's new?
The new updated version also made a number of changes to its GUI applications.
For example, the Garuda Welcome app now has a toggle button for a number of use cases, such as easily switching to HiDPI, GDM to Wayland mode, enabling blockade of ads across the board. system via Adguard DNS and activation / deactivation of the guest account.
The Garuda Network Assistant app has also received new buttons to restart wireless connections such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The application can also now detect whether the installed NetworkManager or Connman daemon is running or not.

Going forward, the Garuda team has now added the Shutdown, Restart, Firmware-Setup (UEFI) menu entries to the GRUB bootloader and changed the color of the highlight text in grub-theme-garuda to blue.
Finally, speaking of desktop environment, version 200831 has changed theme to Whitesur-dark for KDE, GNOME and Xfce.
