Story: Arcadian starts in a post-apocalyptic world, Paul (Cage) and his sons Joseph (Martell) and Thomas (Jenkins) survive in a remote farmhouse. They spend the nights hiding from an outside threat and the days searching for supplies. However, Thomas wants to help the neighbouring family whose daughter Charlotte (Soverall) he has taken a shine to.
That night, Thomas doesn’t return home, and Paul sets out into the dangers of the night in search of him. Here, they must take on the threats if they are to make it home, while Joseph holds the fort at home. This all leads to them facing a difficult future.
Verdict on Arcadian
Arcadian is an action horror following a family trying to save an apocalyptic event on Earth. They live in a farmhouse and every night creatures attack. However, when they become separated the threat gets closer to home and they must prepare for the next challenge.
What starts like ‘A Quiet Place’ environment, takes a different direction with the creatures only attacking at night. There is a bigger mystery about where they came from, which shows a more threatening nature to them. It creates a more zombie survival feeling, where they are outnumbered. However, jumping between a monster movie and a survival movie does not have the suspense the opening creates nor the non-stop action the latter presents. Yes, we get a wild Nicolas Cage and the creature creations are nightmare fuel and feel original all at once. We can have fun watching this, but it won’t become game-changing like others in the recent era of horror.

Final Thoughts – Arcadian is a wild movie with excellent creature creation.
