Apple iPod Touch, the iconic music player from the Cupertino giant, seems to have risen from the dead. Since it was four years ago that the last iteration was seen, it is safe to assume that the line-up has pulled a Jon Snow. How successful it is in achieving the said feat remains to be seen. Apple has now introduced the 7 th-generation of the player with extra storage space and a faster chipset.

The new iPod Touch comes with the same looks as its predecessor. One still gets a Home button with no Touch ID, and those yesteryear's humongous bezels are still to be seen. It is available in a variety of color options, including blue, gold, grey, pink, red, and silver.

The chipset is bumped to the A10 Fusion, which is a welcome upgrade from the 2015 iPod Touch which featured the A8. To put things in perspective, it is the same silicon that was introduced with the Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones in 2016. It may not be the best in class but is surely better than before as far as the performance of the device is concerned. No more worrying about the lag when making a group video call in FaceTime or goofing around with the AR stickers.

The new Apple iPod Touch comes with iOS 12 out of the box. There are three storage variants - the regular 32 GB and 128 GB, and an additional 256 gigs.
