Yesterday on Apple event 2019, Apple announced the all-new line up of products and services in Steve Jobs Theater.
On stage, Apple showed off and explained all the improvements and the hard work behind the scene and we already had an idea of what is coming. But now as it is official let us have a look at 5 biggest announcements Apple made.
The most awaited gadgets of the event were the new iPhones. This year Apple ditched previous naming sequences and launched all-new three iPhones – iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The most surprising development leading up to Apple’s annual announcements of its new iPhones? For the first time, the company is simultaneously streaming the event on YouTube as well as its own site. The times, they are a changin’.
Apple Event 2019: iPhone 11 Pro, Watch Series 5, Apple Arcade, iPad and everything announced
#1. iPhone 11
This year iPhone 11 will take place of previous iPhone XR and it comes with 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display in aluminum and glass sandwich design. With these phones, Apple also updated the processor with A13 Bionic Chip which comes with the fastest CPU and GPU ever on any smartphone.
On the camera department, the iPhone has two 12 megapixel lenses on the back. One of them is wide-angle and the other is ultra-wide angle with 120-degree field of view.
They included better Night Mode technology and 4K 60 frames per second video support. There is also a ‘QuickTake’ feature which will allow users to take a short video while capturing images by holding the shutter button.
Apple has upgraded the front camera and added features like ‘Slofie’ which is a cool name for slow-motion videos. FaceID is also better and faster than before.
iPhone 11 has spatial audio that supports Dolby Atmos.
Without acknowledging the real battery capacity, Apple informed that iPhone 11 will last 1 hour more than iPhone XR which already had the best battery back up of all iPhones out there. The phone will also support faster charging.
iPhone 11 will come in six new color options: White, black, yellow, red, lavender, and green.
The cost of the phone is $699.
#2. iPhone 11 Pro
iPhone 11 Pro is coming with a 5-8 inch Super Retina XDR display with a 2-million-to-1 contrast ratio, HDR 10 and Dolby Vision.
The processor and the audio hardware is the same as iPhone 11.
With the previously mentioned camera, iPhone 11 Pro will have a third camera on the back which is a telephoto lens. Telephoto and ultra-wide work together to zoom in or out and can take multiple shots from a point. Soon with a software update, ‘Deep Fusion’ feature will be available which will shoot 9 images and select the best pixels and save the best possible image, all in a second.
Apple is going to include the 18-watt fast charger in the box and the phone will have 4 hours more battery life than iPhone XS.
Color options for iPhone 11 Pro are midnight green, space grey, silver, and gold.
iPhone 11 price tag is $999.
#3. iPhone 11 Pro Max
6.5-inch Super Retina XDR screen is in front of iPhone 11 Pro Max. Camera, Audio, processor and color availability of the phone is similar to iPhone 11 Pro.
Battery life will be 4 hours better than the previous generation, iPhone XS Max and the fast charger will be included in the box.
The iPhone 11 Pro Max starts at $1,099.
Preorder of the iPhones will start from September 13 and will be available in the stores on September 20.
#4. Apple Watch Series 5
Apple Watch Series 5 got the feature every watch deserves this year, now the display is always on. Apple added a compass for detecting latitude, longitude, and incline. Cellular variants of Series 5 watches can call the emergency number in 150 countries even without the iPhone nearby.
Apple has tuned the display so even with always-on feature the watch will have an all-day battery life of 18 hours.
There are many new finishes for the Series 5 with aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and ceramic. Nike and Hermes special models will also be available as the preorder has already started and will hit the stores on September 20.
Apple Watch Series 5 GPS variants starts with $399 and cellular ones at $499.
#5. 7th Generation iPad
7th Generation iPad – 9to5 MacSurprisingly Apple announced all-new entry-level iPad with a 10.2-inch Retina display and with nearly 3.5 million pixels. A10 Fusion processor will be powering the new iPad. TouchID, smart keyboard connector, Apple Pencil and an 8-megapixel camera are the main features of the iPad.
The price of 7th Gen iPad starts at $329 and $299 for educational purposes. Shipping will starts from September 30.
Services: Apple Arcade and Apple TV Plus
Apple Arcade – 9to5 Mac5 biggest announcements are over, but with all these hardware, Apple also announced Apple Arcade, their game subscription service which will be available from September 19 in 150 countries.
Apple will be adding more than 100 games in the catalog before the launch. With one month free trial, for the whole family, Apple Arcade will cost $4.99/month.
Apple also announced Apple TV Plus, their new TV Streaming service which will come with only Apple Originals and they promised to include new series every month. T
he price tag is the same as Apple Arcade but if you buy any of their Apple devices you will get a one-year free subscription to the service.
For now, the service will be available in 100 countries.
Wrapping Up
The entire event was more concentrated on price than the features and specifications of devices. Like any democratic republic, which announces its financial budget to make people happy, Apple has reduced the prices of its devices.
An interesting thing is Apple has not increased the basic prices of its two flagship devices, which will be available at a price fixed for 2017 iPhone X.
