Apple Arcade added on Friday Next Stop Nowhere, a new election-based adventure game from Night School Studio, to its growing catalog of 130 games. The game takes you on an unexpected road trip adventure through space.
Before Beckett, a local courier, goes to the Earth's Moon to drop off a package, he stops at the Themisto tavern to rest. There he meets Serra, who takes him on an adventure to find her son who has gotten into trouble with a criminal syndicate.
Senior writer Adam Esquenazi Douglas spoke about the importance of representation in the main character Beckett.
"It was important for us to introduce a main POC character whose most important characteristic was not his ethnicity, but his heart," Douglas said in a statement. "This distinction is an important step for me to achieve progressive and proper media coverage, and we have endeavored to do that with Beckett and other characters in our story."
Night school studio
Night School Studio also created the critically acclaimed Oxenfree and Afterparty games. While Next Stop Nowhere stands on its own, you'll likely enjoy it too if you enjoyed the developer's other work. While Oxenfree takes characters into a spooky world where one can no longer wonder what is real, Next Stop Nowhere is more adventurous, the characters crazier, the art style wilder and the narrative choices more life or death, according to studio lead author Adam Hines .
"Next Stop Nowhere shares Oxenfree's DNA in that it is a story-driven game with interesting, varied characters, a story to jump into and a world to explore," said Hines. "And everything else is very different."

With Apple Arcade's release last September, Apple notes stuck his claim in the mobile game world. The subscription game service costs $ 4.99 (£ 4.99, AU $ 7.99) per month and lets you play 130 new and exclusive games on iPhone, iPad, Mac, iPod Touch and Apple TV.
