Apple Arcade: 11 Games We Can’t Wait to Play

Posted on the 04 September 2020 by Thiruvenkatam Chinnagounder @tipsclear

Apple's Mobile Game Subscription Apple Arcade has released over 130 games for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV since its inception almost a year ago. Some of the breakout games for the monthly service of $ 4.99 (£ 4.99, AU $ 7.99) include The enchanted world, Where cards fall and Shinsekai: In the deep.

Apple Arcade released new games and updated others every week. Even though the gaming service has amassed an impressive catalog of games, we're still waiting for some of the biggest titles promised at launch. Here are the games we can't wait to see once they're available.

The artistic escape

Developer: Annapurna Interactive

The Artful Escape tells the story of the teenage guitar wonder Francis Vendetti. On the night of its first performance, Francis is on a psychedelic search for self-discovery. On the way he fights against dead folk legends and sometimes against his own imagination.

The Artful Escape was first announced at E3 2017 and was featured in the Apple Arcade franchise last year. The X019 trailer promises a colorful, neon-colored, musical side-scroller.

Box project

Developer: Aquiris

When Box Project was announced for Apple Arcade, not many details were available other than a photo of a box. Online information is still sparse, but CNET has asked Brazilian game studio Aquiris for more information. A video from YouTuber MrMacRight showed just seconds of Box Project in early June and suggested the name could be a working title. The images looked like a medieval scene with a Wii-like character brandishing a sword while battling little green goblins.

Enter the construct

Developer: Policy games

Not many details were available on Enter the Construct last year other than that it is expected to be available when Apple Arcade launches. At the time, the pictures and videos showed the game as a first-person sci-fi shooter. Little or no information has been available on Enter the Construct since then, so it is possible that it was renamed or canceled. CNET has reached out to Directive Games and we will update as soon as we hear something.

Fantasian

Developer: Mistwalker

Fantasians creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, a mastermind behind several role-playing games, including Final Fantasy, publishes updates on the upcoming JRPG game on Twitter fairly regularly, Facebook and Instagram. If Fantasian is your thing, you can scroll through Sakaguchi's social media for a look at the concept art and game handmade dioramas how they are built. Mistwalker has posted designs from New Town En, Magitech Factory in Machine City, Secret Base and the water town of Vence from the game.

Hitchhiker

Developer: Crazy about pandas

HitchHiker is a mysterious puzzle game where you play as a hitchhiker who remembers nothing about his identity, past or destination. You travel with five different drivers and in the conversations you make decisions that will help you remember your dark secrets. Solve environmental puzzles, watch out for clues everywhere and forge alliances - but remember that nothing is what it seems.

Marble knight

developer: Wayforward Technologies

Marble Knights is a new medieval adventure game from Wayforward Technologies. The developers are also behind the game Shantae and the Seven Sirens, which also runs on Apple Arcade.

A monster's expedition

developer: Draknek Limited

A Monster's Expedition is an open world puzzle adventure that will soon be available in Apple Arcade.

The pathless

Developer: Giant squid

The Pathless is one of the most anticipated games for Apple Arcade. You play as a hunter and have to fight a curse of darkness and corrupt spirits with your eagle companion. Explore beautiful, misty forests on a magical island, solve puzzles and fight. The Pathless is a sequel to the studio's previous game, Abzu.

You can also play The Pathless on the upcoming PS5. On Thursday, Annapurna Interactive showed a few minutes of gameplay narrated by creative developer Matt Nava during PlayStation's State of Play show.

Proxi

developer: Will Wright and Gallium Artists

Proxi is an AI simulation game by The Sims Creator Will Wright. The game is based on the player's memories and uses them as building blocks in the 3D world. Instead of creating a city or house like the player would in The Sims, Proxi models the brain. According to the website, you can save memories and millions of related concepts.

Slash Quest!

developer: Pasta cake

A lovable but clumsy knight must return a speaking sword to his rightful queen in this adventure game.

Ultimate rivals: the court

Developer: Bit fry

This is a sequel to last year Ultimate rivals: the ice rink. Last December, Apple debuted at the Game Awards with the Ultimate Rivals franchise. Future iterations of the game could bring soccer, baseball, or soccer to Apple Arcade.
