Appendicitis is the inflammation of the appendix. Appendix is a finger-shaped protrusion at the end of your large intestine, and is known as vestigial organ. Appendicitis causes pain in the right lower abdominal region. This pain typically increases as inflammation worsens and becomes severe. Appendicitis can occur at any age, but mostly it occurs between 10 to 30 years of age.
