Interesting story behind today's post which is a remix of A.P.O.'s 'O'Superman' by Mike Simonetti. Here's Mike's explanation:
"backstory: label wanted me to do a "remix" of this song. they didnt have the stems , they sent me a poor vinyl rip and told me to "remix" it. this is what i came up with. they hated it, and refused to pay me for the work. i had to haggle and beg to finally get a fraction of what they promised. their comments were:
-the master volume is too low (LOL)-new elements seemed "muffled" like they werent coming through enough (whatever that means)maybe they listened to it on their Mac speakers while browsing Facebook? maybe they werent prepared for a slowly unraveling 10 minute remix of an obscure lo-fi b-side?anyway, you be the judge. free download until they discover this is up.i wouldnt be bitching about it so much if i didnt think it was a good remix , and more importantly if they paid me for the hours i put into this shit."Maybe it was rejected because it didn't have any baseline drops or EDM stabs in it? Either way it's a great rework.
