While the An-124 is a frequent visitor to the Bay Area, it is a special occasion to see an aircraft like this land at SFO.  This was the latest of several flights spotted in recent weeks, triggering plenty of rumors online as to why they are here.  One rumor is that they are contracted to Tesla.  What ever the reason, these are impressive aircraft and this was the first one I’ve seen airborne.  First flown in 1982, 55 of these were produced.  Until the Boeing 747-8F, the An-124 was, for thirty years, the world’s heaviest aircraft gross weight production cargo airplane and  remains the largest military transport aircraft in the world.  Nikon D500 w/Tamron 150-600mm, processed with aperture.
