While the An-124 is a frequent visitor to the Bay Area, it is a special occasion to see an aircraft like this land at SFO. Whatever the reason, these are impressive aircraft and this was the first one I’ve seen in the Antonov livery. Here it is passing overhead at approx 10,000 ft. First flown in 1982, 55 of these were produced. Until the Boeing 747-8F, the An-124 was, for thirty years, the world’s heaviest aircraft gross weight production cargo airplane and remains the largest military transport aircraft (in service) in the world.
