Antonio Banderas celebrates his sixtieth birthday. The opportunity to recall that the Spanish actor, who played twice the famous Zorro, almost played another illustrious character during his prolific career: that of Count Dracula! Banderas, like Viggo Mortensen, Andy Garcia, Gabriel Byrne and Armand Assante, is indeed one of the actors who auditioned in 1992 to play the famous vampire in Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula.

Antonio Banderas will not get the role of Coppola's Dracula (which will ultimately be played by Gary Oldman), but the one who was recently awarded at Cannes for his role in Pain and Glory will nevertheless be illustrated in the wake of 'another long-toothed production. In 1994, the Iberian actor is indeed illustrated in Interview with a vampire, directed by Neil Jordan based on the novel by Anne Rice.

In Interview with a Vampire, Antonio Banderas performs the character of Armand, a vampire over 500 years old and member of a Parisian theater in which the bloodthirsty creatures perform in front of an audience of mortals. The actor notably gives the answer to Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst.
