Using a tool he calls the "Thread Wrapping Machine," Swedish-Chilean designer and recent Royal College of Art graduate Anton Alvarez creates furniture bound together by glue-coated thread—no screws, nails, or joinery needed. "I wanted to create an externalized joint that would enable me to combine a big range of materials and create a decorative pattern formed by the colors of thread," he says.
