Generally, Wednesdays is the lightest day of the week on the site, as we normally don’t have a column prepared or what not, but…I guess as you can see, we got this out for you. Not sure I want to keep the name, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to comment below on suggestions. You should also be warned I might change the name myself in the next few weeks, but hopefully that’ll get finalized soon.
Anyways, I generally do link roundups on Monday: this time, I got you video roundups! Trailers of anything anime, manga, or maybe weird related will be here. You can help me with this column by suggesting stuff by email or Twitter. Here’s how the inaugural column starts though, so take a look after the jump!
From Up On Poppy Hill
Coming out on BD/DVD September 3, From Up on Poppy Hill is based off Tetsurou Sayama and Chizuru Takahashi’s 1980 shoujo manga set in the late 1960′s in Yokohama. Obviously, it’s a Ghibli film/directed by Miyazaki. Aha, but not Hayao (he wrote the script), but directed by his son, Goro Miyazaki. Of course, I’ve heard nothing but bad things about Tales of The Earthsea; what about this one? Well…you’ll have to find out next week I think!
Arpeggio of Blue Steel
Airing in Oct, in seeing the trailer for this anime, I can only say two things: DAT CG! And DAT OST!
Strike The Blood
All I can distinguish from this trailer is that there will be some overpowered guys and gals, some of the usual shounen tropes, and maybe some rockin music. Maybe.
Gingitsune
I don’t know about you guys, but this seems like an anime about a fox and a girl that’s gonna be very inoffensive. This is what this trailer makes me feel.
Pokemon The Origin
On the other hand, this made me feel like getting into Pokemon all over again…then I found out it was a special. Still, it did allow me to revisit a search I had made many months ago, and discovered just how…weird the first Pokemon sprites were. And you know what? I’ll probably watch the special when I get the chance.
J. Stars Victory
H-hey! Come on Namco, I’ve seen this trailer before! How dare you just add Togashi’s main characters at the end (and not even for that long) and call it a day? Oh…none of you have seen the other trailers? Fine…you’re excused.
The Guided Fate Paradox
Oh hey, NISA is kind enough to have stuff available for me to show you all. But I never show it. Well, I’m going to try harder…and so I tried with Nippon Ichi’s The Guided Fate Paradox.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle
When I see something like this, it kind of makes me wish I’d see that level of advertisement for certain things. Then again, it is Jojo…
Otaku Journalist Vlog
Because I tricked Lau–I mean I kindly asked Lauren if she would ever do vlog’s again. You see all the discussion/links to your vlog Lauren? Well there ya go! This particular one has to do with Otakon. Apparently you can’t talk enough about Otakon these days (is still sore he was not able to go to Otakon)
So, that’s it for me…your turn!
Guess I’m done with showcasing some stuff I found. Now it’s your turn. Feel free to suggest videos by email or Twitter, or feel free to share in the comments below.
