I've been trying to watch Antebellum since it became available on Video On Demand last week. I kept starting and pausing, but decided to finish watching it this weekend.
According to the synopsis, successful author Veronica Henley (Portrayed by Janelle Monae) finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality that forces her to confront the past, present and future - before it's too late.
I just couldn't follow or sometimes stomach the film. From the horrific opening watching a black woman being shot, roped and dragged by a horse back to a plantation was a bit much for me.

I was thinking they figured out how to project themselves into the future to force her back into the past. Nope! It wasn't until the end of the film (maybe about an hour in) that I realized "sorta" what was going on.

The film was originally suppose to release in theaters back in August, but due to COVID-19 was instead released on VOD. It cost me $19.99 to watch it.
