After yet another extended break from blogging I've decided to come out from underneath my little rock and put my fingers against the keys to update my dear old blog. Now I'm not even going to attempt to list off a million and one reasons why my updates on here have been so few and far between. Let's just say that this year has certainly been interesting. I most defiantly didn't see myself standing where I am now when the first of January rang in. However, I've slowly come to the realisation that maybe, just maybe I was chasing a dream that has long since died. It's not true what they say – the grass isn't always greener on the other side. That is of corse unless you relishing in ongoing panic attacks and are over the moon about getting yourself deep into a metaphorical hole that you just can't quite seem to find a way out of. Like I said, it's not all been peachy keen. I just constantly feel like a little fish who's swimming in a sea that's just too big. But the people I've met along the way and the new friends I've made are all utterly lovely, which is a blessing in itself. However, onwards and upwards, hopefully the new term will put my worries to bed and calm down my anxiety levels.
On a slightly happier note, the year has also brought with it things that should be celebrated. I passed a Functional Skills English exam with the top marks in the class; which without having stumbled into the blogging community and creating this very humble little blog that you're currently reading; may not have been a possibility. Cheers to that! So although my spelling may still be a bit rough around the edges and even though I'm prone to putting the occasional comma or semi-colon in the wrong place, I don't think that's all too bad in the grand scheme of things.
Staying in the positive theme there's also quite a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks and new year: Christmas (obviously), a trip to New York, and at the end of 2016, Harry Potter and the Curse Child, just to name but a few! With all that in mind, I also want to make sure that I do get back into blogging as I've missed it more than I thought I would. Maybe it's different for other people but there's something, to me at least that's just so relaxing about focusing your mind on cobbling together a decent and well organised post. Getting all these thoughts out and on to the World Wide Web.
