"Honey, I'm home!" I'm home from Malaysia! And I've pretty much forgotten how to blog. So let's have a little catch-up. I ran out of time before my flight to sit down and type a post up with an explanation and brief farewell, but a couple of days ago I went on holiday to my third home, Malaysia.
Nothing makes me feel luckier than knowing I have not one, not even two, but three places to call home in three different countries. Growing up, I became accustomed to hopping on a plane to far-flung locations and slowly over time I've realised just how lucky and thankful I am for my amazing family. We Chai clan, we're a big bunch. 20 cousins and 6 aunties and uncles over in Malaysia that I hadn't seen in six years. Has it really been six? I'm certainly a family girl and living alone for 8 months almost made me forget how much I adore being surrounded by loved ones who are equally as weird as me.
We're the family that has keys to each of the 6+ houses that we live between. We're the family that also has keys to all of the cars in the family repertoire. We're the family scattered around the world but when we get together it's stupidly fun.
I'm currently sat cross-legged, alone, in my apartment in Hong Kong, having flown back this morning. I feel overwhelmingly lucky to have grown up in pretty England with a plethora of things that some could only dream of. NHS ftw! To have been able to become a Hong Kong resident too because of my Mama's nationality. To have been able to regularly visit one of the world's most busy cities but also to have spent several weeks a year in my third hometown of Ipoh, surrounded by rainforests, natural hot springs and huge towering mountains.
Happy to be home but with the realisation that home is wherever my crazy family are ♥
Pls enjoy some unfiltered phone snaps from my trip (: I'll share more from my camera in my next Project Life update!
PS. I totally did 'that' dramatic run and jump and hug thing when I saw my little sister and Daddy for the first time in almost 8 months. Felt like I was in The Hills or something! ;)
