The Borno State government has confirmed the death of another Coronavirus patient in the state.
Alhaji Umar Kadafur, the State’s Deputy Governor who also heads the state committee on the control of coronavirus made the announcement on Wednesday April 22.
The development has led to the closure of Biu market for immediate fumigation. Kadafur said;
“The deceased is from Biu town of and already his contacts have been traced.
“One of his contacts is a trader in Biu market. Following this development, the state government has ordered the closure of market for immediate fumigation.
“As of today, 144 contacts had been traced, 55 were tested and nine people tested positive including the two who died.”
As at 11:25pm on Tuesday April 21, there are 9 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the North East state. 2 deaths have so far been recorded.
