It is no secret that the grand lady of the supernatural genre, Anne Rice is a huge fan of True Blood. Ms Rice was therefore thrilled to meet True Blood werewolf Joe Manganiello last week at the Los Angeles signing party for her new book ‘The Wolf Gift’.
When I saw the photo of Ms Rice on the arm of Joe, I got an idea.
A couple of weeks ago my co-admin Lynn attended a fundraiser event for the Claire’s Place Foundation, a cause that is close to Joe’s heart. Joe is friends with the father of Claire, a 14 year girl who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis.
Lynn and I were touched by the way Claire handles her condition and is committed to raise awareness and help others who are affected by this disease. We started planning an auction to benefit the Claire’s Place Foundation of two Team Alcide items that Joe signed for us previously.
The recent book signing gave me the idea to ask Ms Rice to support this fundraiser by adding a signed copy of ‘The Wolf Gift’ to the auction. I was thrilled beyond words when I received a positive answer to my email within literally 10 minutes of sending it, the signed book was shipped to us the very same day. Thank you so much Ms Rice!
The auction of ‘The Wolf Gift’ signed by Anne Rice and a Team Alcide t-shirt and shorts signed by Joe Manganiello will go live this Sunday February 26. The eBay link will be posted right here on The Vault.
