Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, who co-star on True Blood together as Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton teamed up for the film Free Ride in 2011. The couple produced the film and shot it in Sarasota, Florida. On November 23rd, they will be returning to the city to screen the film at Ringling College’s Digital Filmmaking Studio Lab.
Paquin also stars in the film as a mother who moves to Florida with her two daughters for a fresh start and ends up getting pulled into the drug business. Free Ride is based on events from director Shana Betz’s life. Ringling served as an important part of the film’s production according to Anna:
“Ringling College has a very unique and creative approach to art education. Ringling’s support during the production of ‘Free Ride’ is something we will always be grateful for. We are very much looking forward to returning to find new ways to collaborate with them and to screen ‘Free Ride.’”
