Today, Publisher non-fungible tokens were released by Animoca Brands and its subsidiary TinyTap, which is the biggest platform for user-made educational games (NFTs). Each Publisher NFT is a link to a group of educational games and other interactive activities made by teachers and hosted on TinyTap’s platform (the “Platform”). On November 2, 2022, at 11 p.m., OpenSea will auction off six Publisher NFTs (UTC).
Animoca Brands bought TinyTap this year (see announcement of 16 June 2022). The code-free TinyTap platform lets teachers make and share interactive educational content and get paid when students use it. Animoca Brands and TinyTap are using a Web3 strategy to help instructors around the world make money from their content and give parents better ways for their kids to learn.
The Publisher NFT auction is the first step in using Web3 technologies to create a decentralized education system that helps and rewards teachers.
TinyTap teachers get a cut of subscription income if they make good content. Publisher NFTs and other business models are made possible by Web3 digital property rights.
Publisher Model of NFTs
TinyTap’s Web3 strategy led to the creation of publisher NFTs. Each Publisher NFT co-publishes a Course, which is a group of games built by one teacher on the Platform to teach about a certain subject. These NFTs let NFT holders directly support educational content that matters to them by co-publishing and promoting the linked Courses and splitting the profits.
Using Publisher NFTs, teachers who make content on TinyTap can now sell the rights to publish their Courses. The content is shared with the NFT holders by the teacher and TinyTap.
Like traditional book publishers, Publisher NFT owners need to actively manage and promote their NFTs to share in Course earnings. The underlying Course is taken out of the TinyTap subscription model and stops making money from customer participation until the Publisher NFT owner markets the Course.
Publisher NFT owners can market their Courses on TinyTap and share revenue from the Platform’s subscription model, or they can market them on other platforms. They will get up to 80% of future earnings from promoting and publishing the Courses.
The money from the Publisher NFT auctions will go to the teachers and the Platform. Teachers will also get royalties from the second-hand sales of NFTs and 10% of the money made from Course.
Publisher NFTs can help TinyTap teachers earn more money. Animoca Brands and TinyTap will keep looking for new Web3 technologies that schools all over the world can use.
Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, said, “The use cases for NFTs seem to be limited only by our imaginations.” TinyTap Publisher NFTs help teachers all over the world and encourage them to make educational content that is interesting. The most valuable content is made by teachers, and this content can now be turned into NFT tokens. Web3 gives teachers the tools they need to build equality and value, just like NFTs are changing the way art and games are made.
Yogev Shelly, the CEO of TinyTap, said, “Worldwide, teachers are undervalued, underpaid, and face constant shortages of resources and other problems that make it hard for students to learn.” High education budgets don’t usually help teachers. We’re excited to launch TinyTap Publisher NFTs with six well-known teachers’ courses on our platform because Web3 technologies and communities give us a great chance to solve this problem.
On November 2, 2022, at 11 p.m., the 48-hour auction for the six Publisher NFTs will begin (UTC).
