Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ spooky Halloween event begins after fall update.

The Halloween celebrations began Animal Crossing: New Horizons Thursday, almost a week after Nintendo revealed it in a trailer. The free update to the Nintendo Switch game adds spooky costumes, character customization options, and DIY projects ahead of the October 31st event.

You can now start growing pumpkins (starts are available from Leif and Nook's Cranny) and use them in pumpkin-based DIY projects. Costumes are available from the Able Sisters, and you can trade in Nook Miles for creepy face paint and contact lenses

Keep your brain entertained with the coolest news, from streaming to superheroes, memes and video games.

Don't forget to stock up on candy for the Halloween celebrations - Nook's Cranny will sell you one a day.

On October 31st, your island pals will dress up, gather in the central square and ask for sweets. If you don't give them these goodies, you may be playing a prank (I want to see that though). You will also get a new visitor: Jack, the pumpkin-headed "Tsar of Halloween".

You will find that Jack has already sent you a painting of himself that you can hang on your wall to remind you that he is coming. If you download the fall update, you will also get an in-game Ring Fit Adventure Controller Decoration - The Switch fitness game became incredibly rare in real life this year, but it is back in stock now.
