Android N is expected to make the transition from ‘developer preview’ to full-release later this year and most manufacturers have still not rolled out Marshmallow-based ROMs to their respective smartphones and tablets. It has been been a painfully slow process for many users who are still waiting on the update.

With the expectations for android N already high the current scenario is that a lot of smartphones from last year are yet to receive Android Marshmallow itself, which happens to be the latest full-release version of Google’s mobile operating platform. However, with more and more devices across carriers receiving Android 6.0, T-Mobile took its turn to roll out the much-awaited update to Samsung’s 2015 flagship handsets, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

The updates have just started rolling out as of Monday, April 11th and according to the carrier, the process will go on till April 13th, which is when all T-Mobile customers using the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge across the country should expect to get the new software on their devices, provided everything goes according to plan. Users should start getting notifications on their devices automatically once the update is ready to be rolled out but it can also be manually checked for, by going into Settings > About Device > Software Update.

In this update while the Galaxy S6 (G920T) will bump up its baseband version to G920TUVU3EPD1, the Galaxy S6 Edge (G925T) will have its baseband version changed to G925TUVU3EPD1 after installing the new software. However the downloads for both the devices are incredibly similar in size, with the Galaxy S6 package coming in at 1.31 GB and the Galaxy S6 Edge download weighing in at 1.32 GB.
