Andhra Biryani House, Sohna Road, Gurgaon

By Rohit Dassani

Andhra Biryani House in Sapphire Mall, Sohna Road is an ultimate destination if you’re looking to satisfy your Biryani cravings. The place started a few months back and has been described as a Biryani Paradise. The only problem is the seating, with outside seating on the pavement of this mall. There are almost 5 tables and they cannot accommodate a fairly large group. The seating might be difficult in either winter, summers or even in the rain when I happen to visit the place. The place is decorated with beautiful hand art work, one of them is made by the co-owner itself.

We ordered the Buttermilk and as usual it was fantastic. The flavors of the coriander leaves, curry leaves and Cumin was mind blowing. The drink is used to increase one’s appetite and it didn’t go wrong. We ordered the Mix Veg 65 and the Vegetable Biryani. The Mix Veg 65 didn’t have any synthetic color added to it. The curd based marinated veggies like potato, carrot, beans and chilies were deep fried. The vegetables were crispy from outside and tasty.

Two fried poppadums were also served as complimentary. The Vegetable Biryani was accompanied by Mirchi Ka Salan and Raita along with a plate of Onions and slices of lemons. The Biryani was served in beautiful clay Pot. The first taste of the biryani told me I wasn’t wrong. The rice was very flavorful and had vegetables from all spectrum. The Salan on the other hand had the raw taste of peanuts and was not that great. The Raita was thick and has a generous amount of Onion in it.

Thankfully the place is shifting in a few months and we would be able to have our favorite biryani in temperature-controlled environment.
