Sons of Anarchyreturns for its fifth season.

Created by Kurt Sutter, Sons of Anarchy is an “adrenalized drama” that chronicles the dealings of an outlaw motorcycle club in the quiet town of Charming, California.  The members of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original, or SAMCRO, are a motley crew. From old in age to young blood, the men of SAMCRO will do what it takes to protect their families and their town.

Dealing in both legal and illegal enterprises, SAMCRO knows no bounds. Power doesn’t come easy, and it’s almost always paid in blood. While the club members do have respectable day jobs, the real money is made in illegally importing weapons to sell on the street. Local gangs are more than willing to buy the weapons, allowing SAMCRO to have a hand in the darker side of Charming.

On-air since 2008, the series is about to kick off its fifth season. In fact, there’s only a few hours left until the season premiere of the acclaimed drama.

At this point, Anarchy fans know that Jax now presides over the motorcycle club, and Clay, his stepfather and the club’s former president, is alive- for now. Thanks to some clever writing on Sutter’s part, Clay will be around for a bit longer. Many can attest that Clay should be six feet under by now, even the actor himself.

“Season four was a series of dastardly deeds on the part of Clay Morrow, even more dastardly than I… was prepared for,” said Ron Perlman. “If you had asked me three or four episodes from the end if I thought Clay would make it, I would have said no.”

Clay’s miraculous recovery (he almost didn’t make it through season four!) sparks a war with the One-Niners gang when Clay falsely identifies his shooter as “black.” As can be expected, a misguided retaliation against the One-Niners leads to innocent blood being shed.

And that’s just a smidgen of the “anarchy” viewers can expect to see this season.

You can check out the teaser for season five below. Sons of Anarchy airs on FX every Tuesday at 9 pm CST.
