An iPhone SE 2 Model Will Feature Face ID: Report

Posted on the 14 January 2020 by Anees @ZulfiqarAAnees

It seems that Apple could launch an iPhone SE 2 with Touch ID and another with Face ID.

According to a report by the reliable Japanese blog, Macotakara, which cites Apple suppliers as a source at CES 2020, Apple could be working on an updated model of its iPhone 8 with Face ID. According to the report, this iPhone would have a 5.4-inch screen and would be launched along with the iPhone SE 2 with Touch ID, which is expected to be presented this spring.

The report also notes that the rear camera of this iPhone will be “larger” than that of the iPhone 8, so it could have a double camera like the iPhone 8 Plus. In addition, to locate the TrueDepth sensor in charge of facial recognition, this cell phone would have an intermediate size eyebrow between the iPhone XS and iPhone 11 series.

This new information coincides in part with a recent report from DigiTimes, which mentioned the development of two iPhone SE 2 phones, although according to them, they would not be presented at the same time.

DigiTimes says that Apple would first present an iPhone SE 2 and then a second version with some improvements, perhaps in the fall with the iPhone 12, which could be this cell phone with Face ID reported by Macotakara.

Apple does not comment on reports.
