In addition to the booking announcement, Toyota also revealed important information regarding the engine and other highlights. Let's explore them a bit.
Powertrain
Under the hood, a 1.5-liter K-series four-cylinder petrol engine powers the Urban Cruiser. This is the same engine that is inside the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Although Toyota has not revealed the engine's power, Brezza generates around 103 hp and 138 Nm of torque.
Apart from that, Urban Cruiser is also available with a hybrid powertrain. The hybrid option is equipped with a small Li-ion battery for better energy efficiency.
The compact SUV is offered in automatic and manual transmission, with all automatic variants only available as a hybrid option.
Urban Cruiser is Maruti Brezza with Toyota badge

Image: Toyota Although this is Toyota's first compact SUV, it is simply Maruti Brezza with the Toyota badge. Almost everything from its looks to its powertrain is identical to Brezza. Similar to how Toyota Glanza is adopted from Maruti Baleno, Urban Cruiser is based on Maruti Brezza.
However, there are slight changes incorporated into the compact SUV to give it the essence of Toyota. The front grille appears to be inspired by Fortuner. Likewise, the design of the lower bumper has been changed to make it look like a Toyota car.
Additionally, the dashboard, including the infotainment system, is roughly the same as Brezza's. However, the two-tone interior may look different to many users. Other than that, the Toyota Urban Cruiser is simply a Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
