Creator of EasyOS, Barry Kauler released a new one-off version, EasyOS 2.4, of the 2.0 "buster" series. EasyOS version 2.4 builds on Debian 10 "Buster" and includes some exciting new features.
For those who don't know, Barry Kauler is also the creator and former project manager of one of the best Puppy Linux lightweight distros and discontinued Quirky Linux. He launched EasyOS in 2017, inheriting functionality from Puppy and Quirky Linux.
Therefore, it is a unique Linux distribution that offers features like container usability, session save capability, frugal mode, menu hierarchy, SFS layered file system and desktop. JWM-ROX.
However, EasyOS is an experimental distribution as some of its features are still under development. It is fully designed to support and run applications in containers. EasyOS is also referred to as "Easy Linux" or "Easy".

Based on Debian GNU / Linux, Easy 2.4 included the new Linux 5.4.59 kernel and many package changes made from the latest Debian 10.5 version.
It has updated its apps like SeaMonkey, Pupradio, fftag, ffplay-gtk, Pmcputemp and EasyDD, as well as adding new apps like MATE Calc (replacing Galculator) and iotop.
In addition, Easy 2.4 has also added improvements to "RAM Lock". In other words, he now has alight Kernel boot parameter 'lockdown' in the 'init' script in initrd.
To go further, version 2.4 now offers you a new window to keep some settings when clearing the working session using the "Clear" button in the Easy Version Control dialog box.
As you can see in the image below, you get options to check settings like browser history and bookmarks that you might want to keep after clearing the working session.
Another major improvement in Easy Linux is the change in menu style from online to cascading. Even though it will take additional mouse clicks to access a particular application, Easy 2.4 has adopted a cascading menu system to categorize submenus cleanly.
In addition, it also added new choices to the Stop menu and cascading submenus with the titles "Special .." and "Debug...".

How do I download or upgrade to Easy 2.4?
If you are already using EasyOS, you can easily upgrade your system to a new version. With its unique functionality, you can even restore it to older versions, snapshots and new restore.
