An awareness webinar for visually impaired people An awareness  session on the title of ‘Psychological challenges and solutions faced by the visually impaired people during the Covid-19 pandemic’ was held in zoom technology recently.

The webinar was organized by ‘Vidiyal’ a Tamil news website on the request of Green Flower Sri Lanka and sponsoring of Neelan Tiruchelvam Trust.

Mr. Ahamed Ifthikar, Psychological Counselor of Amal International School attended as a resource person and addressed the topic in this webinar. He presented solutions and guidelines for the psychological problems faced by the visually impaired people during Covid-19 pandemic.

Also, Dr. M.SM. Nusair the Registrar in Medicine of Colombo National Hospital, explained about the vaccination against Covid-19 and responded to participants’ doubts. Moreover, 25 visually impaired participants from all over the country attended and benefited from the event.

Participants delivered that participating in webinar through such technologies was a new experience for themselves, and expressed their gratitude for being a part of continuous webinars of ‘Vidiyal’ news website.

Meanwhile, ‘Vidiyal’ news website has already conducted 11 webinars and 4 radio programmes via ‘Pirai FM’ of #SLBC on the topic of ‘Dispelling Disinformation and Countering the Covid-19 Vaccine Hesitancy and Raising Public Awareness’.
