Among Us is Getting a Cartoon Series and There’s a Lot of Talent Behind the Scenes

Posted on the 28 June 2023 by Jitender Sharma

CBS studios is making a cartoon series based on the hit video game Among Us in partnership with Innersloth, the studio that originally made the game. Owen Dennis is going to be the showrunner. Dennis created the sensational series Infinity Train which unfortunately got canceled and erased after four critically acclaimed seasons. The animation on the Among Us cartoon will be handled by Titmouse Studios. Their earlier credits include Star Trek: Lower Decks and Bigmouth.

The cartoon doesn’t drift too far away from the game and its premise. The crew of a spacecraft is killed and replaced by a shapeshifting alien that tries to sabotage the ship. If you have played the game or know about it, you’d realize that it’s the game but with professional voice actors. The indie game that has been widely lauded for its minimalist mechanics, innovative gameplay, and nonstop surprises, is likely to transform into a pretty exciting series.

There hasn’t been any revelations about the voice cast nor the platform on which the series will be available. Paramount+ could be a good bet considering the show is bankrolled by CBS Studios.

Among Us fans should be excited about this show because Denis Owen is a terrific showrunner. His Infinity Train was a work of thorough brilliance throughout its four seasons before being canceled and erased by HBO Max. Currently, you can access Infinity Train by buying digital episodes via Amazon and Apple.

Among Us is covered by The Animation Guild and it doesn’t depend on the WGA. So, the WGA protests should not affect its production. Though there is no information about its possible release date, we can rest assured that it wouldn’t be delayed indefinitely by the ongoing protests.
