Ammunition Casings in Kandy Garbage Truck

Police yesterday found 32 empty ammunition casings used for T-56 firearms in a garbage truck belonging to the Kandy Municipal Council which arrived along Raja Veediya to enter the Sri Dalada Maligawa premises.

Empty ammunition casings were found during an inspection carried out by the officers at the police checkpoint set up at Raja Veediya in the vicinity of Dalada Maligawa. The driver and assistant of the lorry have been arrested by the police. Police are investigating.
