Amiibo is the new toys-to-life figures from Nintendo. They can be used in lots of different games – from Super Smash Bros. to Mario Kart 8 – but there’s some new information about them that’s very important. Each Amiibo figure can only remember facts about one game at a time. This means you can’t swap between games easily using the same Amiibo figure.
When playing a game like Super Smash Bros., your Amiibo learns new things and can level up to become more powerful. However, it can only remember the stats and levels of one game at a time. So if you were using your Mario Amiibo in Super Smash Bros. and suddenly decided to play Mario Kart 8, you can’t use your Amiibo figure without deleting the stats off the figure first.
It’s a sad thing that Amiibos have to have this, because they’re quite an exciting new thing in the world of Nintendo. Hopefully it won’t be too much of a problem though. There are many of them coming in Wave 1, Wave 2, and Wave 3 that you could easily have different Amiibos ready to go for different games.
