AMD is ready to give a neck to neck competition to NVIDIA with these new 6000 series GPUs. The new GPU cards come with the USB Type-C port to connect with head-mounted displays using a single cable for an immersive VR experience. This time the company also added hardware accelerated ray-tracing support which is based on the DirectX 12 Ultimate implementation. The new RX 6000 GPUs support the VirtualLink standard, which was designed to provide a VR headset with data and power through a single port.

AMD also announced Smart Access Memory, this feature allows the CPU to access more GPU memory resulting in a slight performance boost but this feature will only AMD Radeon Rx 6000 series GPU cards coupled with AMD 5000 series processors. As per the Gizmochina report, the new cards features ‘Infinity Cash,’ which is a 128MB of memory right on the GPU die.  This accompanied by the 16GB GDDR6 VRAM enhanced “effective bandwidth” by up to 3.25 times compared to the same amount of memory without the cache.
