Amazon held an invite-only product launch event in September and we checked out some new products. A new moving smart display called the Amazon Echo Show 10 has been announced. It costs $ 250 (£ 240) and is available for pre-order starting today with a February 25 release date.

The Echo Show 10 is the first motorized smart display from Amazon. It uses the sound localization and computer vision models of the AZ1 Neural Edge processor to triangulate your location in space and rotate the screen to face you.

Alexa doesn't use facial recognition to identify a specific person. it's just looking for a human form. According to Amazon, all people search data on the display is saved locally, so nothing is ever saved in the cloud.

The Echo Show 10 features a 10-inch HD display, 13-megapixel camera, 2.1 audio system and adaptive sound. If you're not in the mood to be chased by your smart display, the Echo Show 10 includes a physical camera shutter, or you can say, "Alexa, turn off motion."

You can use Show 10 for video calls with Zoom, Skype, Alexa Group Calling, and Amazon Chime conferencing. The Echo Show 10 will stream Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video and has a built-in ZigBee hub and a sidewalk bridge for connecting other smart home devices.

When you're not in your Echo Show 10, you can remotely control the camera using your phone's Alexa app with pan and zoom functions. This remote access also works with the recently started one Alexa Guard to scan and zoom regularly and notify you when a person is detected.

Like all of Amazon's latest Echo devices, the Echo Show 10 is Climate Pledge Friendly, which means that Amazon made it from recycled materials and supports low power mode to save energy.

The Echo Show 10 is the fifth smart display from Amazon after the original Amazon Echo Show, the Echo Show (2nd generation), the Echo Show 5 and the Echo Show 8.
