All That Glitters is Not Gold

By Ishita Roy @ishitrozel
All that glitters is not goldGold is one of the most precious metals on earth. But anything that resembles the bright yellow metal may not be gold. This implies that one should not judge a book by its cover. Or more precisely beauty is only skin deep.

For instance, what is the guarantee that the most delicious looking food would not cause food poisoning. Even the cheap chinese mobile phone with the sleekest design cannot go anywhere near an authentic brand in terms of quality. The perfect homes, the perfect faces and the perfect products that we see on the TV are all delusions, which are almost impossible to achieve.

And this very delusion is continued into the living world. In this age of deceit, people wear the glittering masks of honesty, nobility and faithfulness. In my personal experience I have seen one of the most polite students of the class using some of the most vile words in the absence of the teachers. Flatterers in the garb of friends throng our lives. Cheats dress themselves as gentlemen and lure us into their traps. And why do people get attracted? It is because most often we tend to overlook the gold and get blinded by all the glitters.
