All in the Ankle

By Blueoctober @blueoctober__
all in the ankleIt's a constant battle - finding black skinny jeans that stay black and don't fade into a curious gray colour, fit well all over and don't bag at the knees after the first wear. Me, I'm a Topshop girl. I know what size fits me and they tend to be pretty good quality for the price - the above range from £36 - £40. The three above styles are (l-r) Joni, Leigh, and Jamie.Lets start with Joni, Topshop's latest super high-waisted style which everyone and their dog seem to have now. Now, I didn't buy them 'cos I want to wear cropped tops and show off the high waist - I'm just got that kinda girl. I bought them cos they're super comfortable, and stay put without a belt as they're belly-button height. But, they're not perfect. Does anyone find theirs have stretched slightly and leave the white stitching at the sides visible .. or am I just a bit fat?! A cheeky color in with a permanent marker and they seem to be ok though... and I do love them!On to Leigh. These were my favourites back in the day as they're super skinny (even on my weirdly skinny ankles) and have a decent rise. I'm not one for low-rise jeans! I do find they lose shape a little round the waist after a few wears, but mostly stay fitted on the legs and keep their color. Mine have a little turn up at the bottom which most Leigh's seem to have... apart from on the website apparently! I do find this makes them a little more casual, though. And finally, Jamie. These are a funny one for me. They claim to have 'power stretch' meaning they keep their shape for longer... but mine don't seem to live up to this promise. They bag at the knee after a few wears and the waist line is just weird. They come up to a really unflattering place on my waist and to be honest don't feel like they fit completely well. I've got a pair in a spearmint color which I don't love, but also in burgundy which are a little better and don't lose shape as quickly. Where do you buy your black skinnies from? Do you find they keep their colour/shape well?
